Arrive at Kinabalu Park, enjoy the cool and refreshing mountain air, if the day is clear
a majestic view of Mount Kinabalu, the highest mountain in South East Asia.
Proceed for a guided walk along the nature trails with the park naturalist. While walking
listen to the sounds of the jungle and observe nature's plants, trees, orchids and
butterflies. Kinabalu Park boasts an estimate of 4,500 species of plants which includes
1,500 species of orchids, 77 of which are endemic to Kinabalu. The park also supports
289 species of birds and 290 different types of butterflies.
Crossing the mountain range to Poring Hotspring takes about an hour – passing by
vegetables farms, roadside stalls and smaller interior towns of Sabah.
At Hotspring, an uphill walk through the Borneo tropical rainforest to the 40
metre high tree-top Canopy Walkway will bring you back to nature. The chirping
calls of birds and insects will surely relieve the stress of hectic city life.
Alternatively, less strenuous, explore the waterfall or a dip in the sulphur
rich water tub or visit the nearby Butterfly Farm. Lunch will be at Fairy
Garden. (set Lunch)
Next, visit the Agro Flower Nursery or the Mountain Garden at Kinabalu Park
where some of the botanical wonders of Kinabalu, such as pitcher plants,
orchids and ferns can be seen. Return to Kota Kinabalu late afternoon.
